Designed by Wadsworth Design Build, the project was conceived as a small Vermont getaway, styled in the Modern Barn aesthetic. Owner, Rob Wadsworth, explains, “Our client wanted a small Vermont getaway in the Modern Barn style on a beautiful piece of land with a great view of Stratton.” The design reflects a perfect blend of modernity and tradition, with its clean lines and sleek form, all while paying homage to the classic Vermont barn.

One of the standout features of this project is the innovative use of materials, particularly the metal roofing with no eave overhang that transitions seamlessly into the siding, mimicking traditional board and batten. Also standout stars, are the Marvin windows and doors, carefully selected and supplied by Windows & Doors By Brownell. This project includes a combination of Marvin Modern, Marvin Elevate, and Marvin Essential products, each chosen for their ability to enhance both the aesthetic and functional aspects of the building. These windows are not just functional but are a critical part of the building’s aesthetic, creating a striking visual connection between the interior space and the breathtaking views of the Stratton Ski area.

The project also stands out for its commitment to sustainability. Wadsworth highlights the use of Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) enclosures, which provide superior energy efficiency, crucial for Vermont’s demanding climate. This attention to detail ensures that the barn is not only beautiful but also eco-friendly, minimizing its environmental footprint while maximizing comfort and functionality.
